Went from Nagasaki East High School to Tsukuba University and became a teacher at the University of Tsukuba after working as a high school teacher at Nagasaki Prefecture. Major achievements include the individual title at the WKC, 3rd place at the All Japan Championships and a National Teachers Tournament title. Professor at the Graduate School of Comprehensive Human Sciences and Director of the Kendo Club at the University of Tsukuba.
