2019.3 KENDOJIDAI Instructors in the field are concerned about how to get students to like Kendo, and how to increase the number of their club members. These instructors from joint Keiko sessions shared their honest opinions with each other. Kutsukake Ryoji, 7th Dan Renshi Born in Tokyo in 1965. After graduating from Tokyo Metropolitan Kogei High School and Tokai University, he worked as a company employee before becoming a teacher in Tokyo. He is currently a teacher at Tama Kogyo High School. Chairman of the Kendo Promotion and Guidance Committee of the Tokyo Metropolitan Kendo High School Federation. Kimura Koji, 7th Dan Renshi Born in Tokyo in 1970. After graduating from Tokyo Metropolitan Hachioji Kita High School, he went on to study at the Nippon Sport Science University. After graduation, he became a high school teacher in Tokyo. He is currently a senior teacher at Kokubunji City Third Junior High School and the head of the Kendo Competition Division of the Tokyo Junior High School Sports Federation. Ueki Nobuhiro, 7th Dan Kyoshi Born in Tokyo in 1976. After graduating from Tokyo Metropolitan Nishi High School and Tsukuba University, he became a teacher in Tokyo.
