Due to the coronavirus, international travel has been restricted and the Kendo seminars that are usually held in various countries have consequently been cancelled.
Kendo Jidai International is pleased to announce the “Nippon Sport Science University Online Kendo Seminar” with the cooperation of Yagisawa Makoto Sensei (Kendo Kyoshi 8th Dan), Furusawa Nobuaki Sensei (Kendo Kyoshi 7th Dan), and Shinzato Chikano Sensei (Kendo Kyoshi 7th Dan) of the Nippon Sport Science University (Nittai-dai). Please refer to the following guidelines and we hope that you can join us.

Lesson content
The second session’s theme is “Basic to Advanced Movements”. Starting with this sesion, we will also have the cooperation of students from the Nittaidai to facilitate the lecture.
The third session will be “Advanced Movements.” The fourth and fifth sessions are still under consideration, but we will decide on the content in response to the questions and requests from the participants (dan examinations, matches, etc.).

Conditions of participation
- As a Kendo player, you are expected to participate in the class with good manners and moderation.
- You must have an internet connection and a Zoom account.
- Participation via tablet or PC is recommended.
- You are not required to wear Kendogi and Hakama. (Feel free to wear them if you want to)
- If you want to review some motions while watching the video, please prepare a Shinai or Bokuto. (This is not required)

Born in 1961 in Akita Prefecture, Japan. Graduated from the Department of Martial Arts, Nippon Sport Science University in 1984. Completed the Graduate School of Physical Education, Nippon Sport Science University in 1990.

Born in Kumamoto, Japan in 1981. Graduated from the Department of Martial Arts, Nippon Sport Science University in 2004. Retired from the Imperial Household Police Headquarters in 2015.
Completed the Master’s Course at the Nippon Sport Science University in 2017.
